A theatre performance between The X Files, the fear of the Unknown and posthuman theory.
An alien tries to call home. Searching for its home planet and in an attempt to make contact with others of its kind, it leaves behind a trail of devastation. An FBI Agent takes up the investigation and gets caught between science and the paranormal.
But as she comes closer to the creature, the perspective shifts: the alien itself becomes the observer. If follows the agent in search for its roots/origin - and uncovers a shocking truth.
A debate about narrative authority unfolds: who owns the story of this being? Moving between surveillance and memory, the alien appears at times as a witness, at times as a suspect. It looks back, dreams, reflects - and asks: why do we so often transform the Other into fear, defense, or violence?
Case File: Me – An Alien Stares Back is a theatre performance full of mystery and humor - an exploration of what we perceive as foreign. It might be that the true unknown is not somewhere out there, but within ourselves.
