Hate and Outrage, Arousal or empathetic solidarity generated through media are shared, archived and regulated and in doing so, are one building block of social order. Are we being pulled into these feeds or do we enable online phenomena like Hate Speech and Hashtag Activism through our specific ways of using it?
The cross-media production Face Me explores the emotionally charged connection between individuals and social networks: the actors approach each other musically and physically as well as playing the roles of the user, Narziss or Echo and of the like button. While still remaining themselves they question their own positioning in the depths of Facebook. Through multivoiced, autofictional text as well as absurd and humorous embodiments, the artists collective Doris Crea ventures to tell a story about Facebook and gives insights at their current state of production (development) at the Berliner Ringtheater in cooperation with Metropoltheater Munich - a production which is, analogue to social media, always in motion.
